Mid-Autumn Festival! Let's eat some moon cakes!
Last Wednesday (4th of October 2017), it was a big moment in Asia! Why ? Because it is the Mid-Autumn Festival (Zhong Qiu Jie in Mandarin), also known as the Moon Festival. It's celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month in the traditional East Asian lunar calendar. From Korea to Vietnam, from Japan to Singapore, this party is marked by various customs and festivities. On this night, many houses are illuminated with lanterns, and feasts and dance parties are held on a grand scale.
People will be out and about, mostly staring at the bright full moon while having aptly named moon cakes as desserts.
Hmmm moon cakes. You have to try them. Here, at Magic Design Studios, we celebrated - in our own ways - thisMid-Autumn Festival by eating big moon cakes (one is enough for 5 game developers..!). Unfortunately, we don't have lanterns or fire dragon dance, but we have stomachs to stock some good chinese moon cakes. Yummy.
